Wellington, March 27th, 2024.- Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, the Cuban Ambassador to New Zealand, met with Mirtha Álvarez, the Director of the "Letras Latinas" Library at the Embassy's headquarters in Wellington.
They discussed the positive state of relations between the Cuban Embassy and the Aotearoa Latin American Community (ALAC). They also talked about the potential to strengthen and expand these ties for the benefit of Latin American immigrants living in New Zealand.
During their meeting, the Ambassador and the Director talked about the opportunities to expand the collection of "Letras Latinas" library. The library offers valuable services to the growing Latino community in New Zealand. Both parties agreed on the importance of strengthening collaboration in this area to ensure better access to cultural and educational resources.
The meeting concluded with the reaffirmation of their commitment to continue working together to promote cultural exchange and to support the development of the Latino community in New Zealand.
The Director was accompanied by Carolina Lagos, an ALAC social worker based in Wellington, Rafael de Armas, a Latin American artist, and Norka Mella, a Chilean resident of New Zealand.
