The 1st of August, a meeting with Cubans residing in Denmark took place in the city of Odense, attended by the Ambassador of Cuba, Roger López García, and the Head of Consular Affairs, Eneida Lemus Zellero, with the participation of almost thirty resident Cubans and their families, from various regions of the Nordic country. The activity was also attended by a representation of the Cuban Dano Association from the same city.
The Group of Cubans welcomed the Cuban representatives. The Ambassador, in his exchange with the participants, recalled the Moncada action led by the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, whose celebration was remembered by our Embassy in the same city, just one week before, with the members of the Cuban Dano Association. The Cuban diplomat highlighted the proximity of the meeting with the 94th day of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution whom all Cubans committed to the homeland remembered with deep admiration.
In his speech, López García addressed various aspects of the current situation in our country, the work of the Embassy during these months, the monitoring of the Group's activity, in contact with its Coordinator; as well as various initiatives developed jointly, despite the conditions caused by the pandemic in Denmark and globally.
At the meeting, all participants enjoyed Cuban musical rhythms and sports encounters. They also announced a baseball game that would take place in the city of Arhus on Sunday morning with another group of enthusiasts and lovers of this discipline in the Jylland region.
The activity contributed to reaffirming the patriotic values and cultural identity of Cubans keeping in minds the roots and traditions. (Embacuba Dinamarca)
