Meeting with President of the Cuba-Nigeria Parliamentary Friendship Group

Abuja, May 5, 2024.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba Miriam Morales received this afternoon the President of the Cuba-Nigeria Parliamentary Friendship Group Senator Joshua Chinedu Obika at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Nigeria.

During his stay in Cuba's house, important economic-commercial issues were discussed in order to increase relations between both parliaments and in turn between both countries.

The honorable senator reiterated his interest in making an official visit to Cuba with the objective of carrying out a program that includes both meetings with the main representatives of the National Assembly of Cuba and with the ministries and centers in charge of business promotion in the country.

For our part, the Ambassador thanked the friendship group for the support received since the beginning of his mandate. She also referred to the importance of continuing to work on a plan of activities to carry out during 2024 within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Nigeria.

The Third Secretary Ana Flavia Gómez Pavot was present at the meeting.
