Meeting with the president of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.

Wellington, April 2, 2024.- The President of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, Karun Shenoy, met with the Cuban ambassador, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, to discuss topics of mutual interest and explore new opportunities for collaboration between the business communities of Cuba and New Zealand.

During the meeting, the ambassador presented a letter from the President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio L. Carricarte Corona. The letter proposed holding a virtual meeting with the aim of evaluating the common interests of the companies of both countries. This initiative seeks to identify potential areas of cooperation and strengthen bilateral business relations.

During a recent meeting, the Cuban ambassador extended an invitation to the president of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce to attend Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2024) in November of this year. The ambassador emphasized that FIHAV represents an excellent opportunity to hold bilateral meetings between exhibitors, businessmen, technicians, representatives of all key actors and sectors of the Cuban economy, and foreign businessmen.

The ambassador also stressed that FIHAV 2024 will be an ideal platform to share ideas and initiatives aimed at attracting foreign investment in Cuba. The president of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce expressed his interest in participating in the fair and in the proposed virtual meeting, with the aim of strengthening trade ties between the two countries.

Both parties agreed to continue their discussions aimed at promoting economic and business cooperation for the benefit of Cuba and New Zealand.
