Harare, March 5, 2024- Members of the Cuban diplomatic and medical missions in Zimbabwe participated in an act of solidarity at the Palestinian Embassy, demanding an immediate ceasefire and genocide against the population, which has caused thousands of victims in the Gaza Strip. Also present were representatives of civil society organizations such as the Anti-Sanctions Movement of Zimbabwe and the director of the Zimbabwean Institute of Diplomacy, V. A. Chikanda
The Palestinian ambassador, Dr Tamer Almassri, thanked Cuba for its support in the historic struggle of the Palestinian people and reiterated his condemnation of the illegal Israeli occupation and the murder of thousands of people, including civilians.
For her part, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Cuba, Yenielys Vilma Regueiferos Linares, referred to the massive acts of condemnation against this war throughout our Island last Saturday and the activity organized by the Cuban Medical Brigade in Harare, in the emblematic “Fidel Castro” Street, to demand that Palestine be free immediately and that the death of innocent people be avoided.
The event received extensive press coverage and served as a forum to denounce, once again, the unjust blockade against Cuba that has affected our people for more than 60 years.
