MINAG delegation concludes a successful exploratory visit to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, June 1st – A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG) of Cuba, headed by the general director of Agricultural Engineering, Héctor Luis Torna Martínez, and also made up of the general director of the Marketing Company of Industrial Objectives, Machinery, Equipment and Hardware Articles (Maquimport), Kenia Parra Hidalgo, paid an exploratory visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the purpose of contacting possible local suppliers and providers of equipment, means and resources essential for the development of Cuban agriculture.

The main host of the delegation was “Al-Khorayef”, a group of companies that has historical relations with Cuba in the agricultural sector and which has achieved excellence in the agricultural market, representing and marketing top-line brands, combined with offering a variety of quality services to its clients.

In addition to visiting the factory of the Arabian International Company for Steel Structures (AIC) and holding meetings with representatives of companies such as Saudi Drip, MESK, Al-Fanar, ABB and Al-Shaheen, the delegation was received by executives of the Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Company (SABIC), the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), the General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) and the Saudi Export-Import Bank (Saudi EXIM).

Particularly interesting was the meeting with the general director for the Private Sector at the GAFT, Kahtan Fahad Mohammed Al-Dagaither, who chaired the Saudi Arabian delegation that participated in the XXXIX edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2023).

The visit of this MINAG delegation is part of the efforts of the Cuban and Saudi authorities to continue developing and diversifying bilateral relations between our two countries, and above all extending them to the economic-commercial sphere. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
