Minister of Agriculture of Guyana recognizes the work of Cuban specialists in Parliament.

Guyana, Georgetown, February 3, 2025. The Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, recognized in Parliament the work carried out by the Cuban sugar specialists who offer this cooperation in Guyana. Cuban technicians have accompanied GuySuCo's revitalization efforts, especially in areas such as field, agricultural and crop management, said the Minister, who considered the participation of Cuban specialists valuable due to the high level of experience and direct exchange with the local population and in the estates. This bilateral cooperation between Cuba and the Guyana Sugar Company Guysuco, was agreed in March 2024. Guyana aims to produce one hundred thousand tons of sugar by 2025.
