THE BAHAMAS, February 29th ,2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, was received this morning by the Honourable Jerome Fitzgerald, Minister of Education, Science and Technology of the Caribbean country at the headquarters of his ministry.
During the meeting, both sides reiterated their willingness to continue cooperating in the education field, while they reviewed the current state of the issues between the two countries.
The Minister highlighted the excellent state of relations with Cuba and made a positive reference to the hiring of new teachers. Similarly, he referred to the priorities of the Bahamas on Education and the Cuban Ambassador mentioned the availability of Cuba to provide their experience in this area. The Cuban diplomat gave to the Minister a reproduction of a Cuban painting.
The meeting was also attended by Rogelio Pérez Parrado, representative of the Ministry of Education of Cuba in The Bahamas and senior Bahamian officials in this ministry.
