Minister for Education of Ghana receives the Cuban Ambassador

Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, Minister for Education of the Republic of Ghana, received at the headquarters of the Ministry that directs the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González.

Both spoke about the 12th International Congress of Higher Education “University 2020”, which will take place in Havana between February 10 and 14, 2020, and where the Ghanaian Minister will participate after being invited by the Minister of Higher Education of Cuba, José Ramón Saborido Loidi. The Ambassador urged the Minister to make known in Cuba, the development of programs that are implemented in the educational sector in the Republic of Ghana.

Dr. Opoku-Prempeh also referred to the meeting held with the Minister of Education of Cuba, Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella in London, during their participation in the World Education Forum 2020, where they outlined actions to strengthen bilateral ties in the educational field. The Ambassador reiterated the will of the government and the Cuban people to continue strengthening historical ties with the Republic of Ghana.

Also present at the meeting were the Special Assistant to the Minister, Ms. Laila Abubakari, and the First Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba, Julio César Sánchez.
