Minister of Eradication of Poverty and Social Welfare begins visit to Cuba.

The Minister of Eradication of Poverty and Social Welfare of Namibia, Bishop Zephania Kameeta and his delegation, began an official visit to Cuba today. The Minister complies with an invitation made by his homologue, Margarita González, Minister of Labor and Social Security.

Founded on the initiative of President Hage Geingob in 2015, this Namibian Ministry has the objective, as its name implies, of facing inequalities and combating poverty. Among the most important programs developed by this agency is the "Namibia Food Bank", intended for the distribution of food to the most needed families. This project has received Cuban support, through the participation of Ángel Dalmau Fernández, Cuba's first Ambassador to Namibia, who has been an assessor for the implementation of the program.

The Namibian delegation will complete an extensive program of activities that includes a working meeting with Minister Margarita González. Likewise, Minister Kameeta, as bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, will hold several meetings with ecclesiastical authorities of the Island.

The Minister and the delegation accompanying him will culminate their visit to Havana next Saturday, April 29th.
