Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas travels to Cuba to attend funeral in honor of Commander Fidel Castro Ruz

THE BAHAMAS, 30th November, 2016. -A Bahamian delegation, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Hon. Fred Mitchell, traveled to Havana to attend the funeral of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, representing the Bahamian government.

The presence of the Caribbean delegation in Cuba in homage to Fidel is in addition to the declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, conveying condolences for the physical disappearance of Fidel.

The Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Hon. Perry G. Christie, sent an emotional message of condolences to Comrade Raúl Castro Ruz on the occasion of the passing of Fidel, whom he described as one of the most iconic and transformative revolutionary figures of the 20th century.

Since the unfortunate news of the passing of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, various representatives of the Bahamian politics and culture, religious leaders, friends of the solidarity and the population in general, have come to the Cuban Embassy in The Bahamas to express their respect and admiration for Fidel, as well as signing the book of condolences.
