Guyana, Georgetown, September 28, 2019. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Hon. Dr. Karen Cummings emphasized in her speech before the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly: “In our own region, we rejoin the overwhelming majority of the member states of the international community to request the lifting of the commercial and economic embargo against our sister Caribbean nation of Cuba, which is a serious impediment to the legitimate aspirations of the Cuban people to improve their material well-being and achieve their Sustainable Development Objectives ”, as a sample of the brotherhood and solidarity relationships that exist between the two nations.
