New York, 4 November 2019.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, participated in the meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement, held November 4th, at the United Nations Headquarters.
The Minister expressed Cuba's acknowledgement for the effective leadership of the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the head of NAM over the past three years. He also congratulated Azerbaijan for assuming the chairmanship of the Movement, as well as for the successful conclusion of the Eighteenth Summit of the Heads of State and Government held in Baku from 25 to 26 October.
The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs updated the Movement on the escalation of hostility and the strengthening of the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, while thanking its members for the historic stance of condemning and rejecting this policy.
Several non-aligned countries reiterated their support for and solidarity with the struggle of the Cuban people.
