Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba visits Saint Lucia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez, accomplished a visit to Santa Lucia between June 12 and 13, in which he meet the main authorities of the State and the Government of the Island. The Minister was received by His Excellency Sir Emmanuel Neville Cenac, Governor-General, whom he ratified Cuba's disposition to follow up on and strengthen the existing cooperative projects, particularly those linked to health and the training of professionals. A fundamental moment of his visit was meeting and a broad exchange with the Honorable Prime Minister Allen Chastanet, who welcomed him on his official visit to Saint Lucia. During the cordial meeting, both parties confirmed the positive status of the bilateral relations and ratified the interest to strengthen these ties that arrive this year to its 40th anniversary. In addition, they also discussed other regional and international issues. The Cuban Foreign Minister thanked Saint Lucia's solidarity and reiterated that Cuba's interest to continue expanding the political dialogue and bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit and in favor of regional integration. The meetings were attended by the Honorable Sara Flood-Beabrum, Minister with responsibility for External Affairs, as well as other government officials. The Cuban delegation also included the Cuban Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Alejandro Simancas Marín and Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eugenio Martínez Enríquez. At another time of his stay in Santa Lucia, Minister Bruno Rodriguez, exchanged with the Honorable Phillip Joseph Pierre, Opposition Leader, and former Prime Minister Honorable Dr. Kenny Davis Anthony. In addition, he had a pleasant meeting with Cuban cooperation workers, with whom he exchanged widely about the work they do in Saint Lucia, through which they contribute to the social development of this sister nation and ennoble the name of Cuba.
