SRI LANKA, October 31, 2019: - His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the headquarters of that Ministry.
During the meeting, which took place in a friendly environment, both parties highlighted the relations of friendship between the two countries, as well as exchanged on various issues of bilateral and multilateral interest.
The Ambassador also thanked Maldives for their traditional support for the Cuban resolution against the blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.
On November 6 - 7, 2019, the United Nations General Assembly will consider again the draft resolution entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.
