The Minister of Foreign Affairs International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs of Saint Lucia, Honorable Alva Baptiste, today met with Yenielys Vilma Regueiferos Linares, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Lucia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet.
Regueiferos explained the increasing economic measures against Cuba and the unjust inclusion of Cuba in the List of Countries that Sponsor terrorism. The Ambassador also expressed her gratitude for Saint Lucia's invaluable support in regional and international forums. The Lucian Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the support of his government regarding the end of the blockade.
In the meeting both diplomats discussed on the longstanding partnership between Saint Lucia and Cuba, in healthcare and education.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering mutual development and regional solidarity.
