Minister of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis receives the Ambassador of Cuba.
Basseterre, September 8, 2022: The newly elected Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Honorable Dr. Denzil Douglas, who also heads the Ministries of Economic Development, International Trade, lnvestment, lndustry and Commerce, received at the Foreign Ministry, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, David Rivero Pérez, who paid him a courtesy visit.
The meeting, held in a fraternal atmosphere, was conducive to exchanging on issues on the bilateral agenda, not only in the political sphere, but also in the economic and cooperation.
Minister Dr. Douglas conveyed to his visitor the great importance that his government attaches to the relationship with Cuba and expressed his gratitude for the contribution to the training of Federation professionals in Cuban universities, including the current Premier of St. Kitts and Nevis, of which he revealed great joy.
The Cuban Ambassador, also conveyed the gratitude of his people and government, for the historic position of solidarity and support for his country, mainly in the battle against the blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years, which that the Chancellor ratified his invariable position.
The holding of the Havana International Fair next November, as well as the celebration of the 50th anniversary of CARICOM-Cuba relations on December 8, were other topics addressed by the Cuban diplomat, who also extended an invitation to the Foreign Minister to travel to Havana.
