Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection of Ghana in favour of collaborating with Cuba

The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González was received by Ms. Otiko Afisa Djaba, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection at her office. 
 
The Ghanaian minister expressed her desire to visit Cuba to exchange information on the situation of women and to learn how the Cuban government implements social policies for the benefit of vulnerable sectors. She commented that the Government of Ghana is developing actions to help poor communities, and to create new jobs. The Minister is an important leader of the female branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
 
The Ambassador of Cuba explained how the Revolution changed the lives of women in Cuba and brought an example of the role they play today in the intellectual and technical fields of the country. He expressed Cuba's willingness to cooperate with Ghana in the preparation of its human resources and especially of the new generations. 
 
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Abdul Samed Abdulai, co-founder of the NGO "Institute of Peace and Progress", dedicated to community work with children and young people, and who participated last May at the International Seminar "Pro-Childhood 2017" in Havana. The First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy, Julio César Sánchez, also attended the meeting.
