Kuala Lumpur, January 24- The minister in the office of the Prime Minister and member of the Supreme Council of the United National Organization of the United Malays (UMNO), Dato Seri Shahidan bin Kassim received the Cuban Ambassador in Malaysia Ibete Fernández Hernandez.
At the meeting, the parties talked on the possibilities of increasing the bilateral relationship in several sectors, especially in health and scientific research. The minister was interested in other areas such as housing, civil defense, national security and disaster management that are areas under his portfolio.
The ambassador explained about the process of updating the Cuban economic model and extended an invitation for Malaysian government members and businessmen to visit Cuba.
In the meeting that took place in a cordial atmosphere, Minister Shahidan recalled the three occasions in which he visited Cuba as well as the meeting with the Commander in Chief, whom he described as the undisputed leader.
