The Honorable Steven Blackett, Minister of Social Development of Barbados, welcomed Cuban Ambassador Francisco Fernandez to continue the discussion on Cuba's offer related to a technical assistance project with a view to developing a strategy and a national plan of effective confrontation mental illnesses such as Alzheimer and Dementia. Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Janet Philips, and other ministry officials, progress was made in identifying the steps to follow for the adequate and timely formulation of the aforementioned project, which would be carried out by highly qualified experts from the Cuban Ministry of Public Health. Ambassador Fernandez said that if it was accepted by the government of Barbados, the project would be financed by the WHO / PAHO Office resident in Bridgetown in charge of the cooperation with the Eastern Caribbean.
