Minister of State for Tertiary Education of Ghana will participate in University 2018

Professor Kwesi Yankah, Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education, received the Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Mr. Pedro Luis Despaigne González at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education.

Professor Yankah, will travel to Cuba heading the delegation of his country that will participate in the XI International Congress, "University 2018".

The Minister of State and the Cuban Ambassador talked in a fraternal way about the historical ties between Ghana and Cuba, emphasizing how for more than five decades thousands of young Ghanaians have studied different university specialties in the largest of the Antilles.

The Cuban diplomat, who confirmed the commitment of his country with the training of qualified professionals for the African continent, informed to Professor Yankah about the favorable performance of the more than two hundred Ghanaian students who are studying Medicine in different Cuban medical universities.

The professor Yankah referred to the interest of the government of the President Nana Akufo-Addo to strengthen relations with Cuba in sectors such as Health and Education, due to the impact of both on the lives of Ghanaian citizens. Other topics of bilateral interest were also analyzed during the interview.
