Minister of Tertiary Education meets Latin American ambassadors in Wellington.

Wellington, June 12, 2017. - As part of the exchanges developed by the Latin American ambassadors in Wellington to promote a greater rapprochement between the countries of our region and New Zealand, the heads of Mission of the GRULAC held a meeting with the Minister of Tertiary Education, Science & Innovation, and Regulatory Reform, Paul Goldsmith.

During the meeting both parties examined the establishment of the Centres for Asia Pacific Excellence (CAPE), a cross-institutional initiative for training in the language, culture, politics and economics of countries or groups of countries within the Asia-Pacific region. One of these centres will work on better knowledge and understanding of Latin – America, based at Victoria University of Wellington.

Latin American diplomats expressed their interest in opportunities for their countries academic institutions to take part in this programme, which will go through design and projection phase in the next six months and is expected to start operations in early 2018. (Embacuba Nueva Zelandia).
