Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change of Jamaica receives the Ambassador of Cuba.

Kingston, 11 June 2026. The Honourable Matthew Samuda, Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change of Jamaica, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Tania López Larroque.

During the meeting, both parties acknowledged the climate challenges facing both countries, as well as the potential for increasing bilateral cooperation on environmental matters, natural disaster prevention and protection, and the efficient management and use of water resources.

The diplomat addressed the current impacts faced by the Cuban population as a result of the intensification of the energy, economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba.
