The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba and Turkish Airlines sign a memorandum of understanding.

Havana, July 9, 2019. The Director General of Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (Mintur), Barbara Cruz, and the Vice President of Sales for The Americas of Turkish Airlines, Mustafa Dogan, signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding on the Taganana Room of the National Hotel of Cuba that will allow to strengthen the links in tourism and promote actions of mutual benefit between Cuba and Turkey.

Both officials agreed that signing the document ratifies the Mintur and Turkish will to work together to strengthen trade ties and improve bilateral relations in the field of tourism. The Turkish Ambassador to Cuba, Ayse Berris Ekinci, who participated in the ceremony, also expressed her satisfaction with the ties, and she was inclined to strengthen the links between the countries.

Tourism relations between Turkey and Cuba grow. From 1999 to date, was signeds an intergovernmental agreement for training, and exchange of information on communication and trade, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and an Action Plan for Tourism Cooperation aimed at health tourism, investments and hotel management. In addition, about 17 thousand 556 Turkish citizens visited the island in 2018. (EmbaCuba Turkey).
