Decarations of the MINREX deputy minister, Rogelio Sierra

The coercive measures adopted by the Council of Foreign Affairs of the European Union against Venezuela constitute an interference in their internal affairs and do not contribute to the process of dialogue promoted by the Government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros for understanding and peace.

These decisions are contrary to the principles of International Law and those of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, signed by the Heads of State and Government of the region at the II Summit of CELAC in Havana, in January Of 2014.

It is contradictory that the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union concludes that the only way to address the situation in Venezuela is through constructive dialogue and negotiation and, at the same time, conditions them with sanctions, selective blacklists and limitations on international trade. that harm the town.

In these circumstances, Cuba expresses its rejection of the sanctions against Venezuela and reiterates its unwavering and unconditional solidarity with the Bolivarian and Chavista people, with its civic-military union, and with the government headed by the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro Moros.
