Multi-destination tourism: connecting nations

Kingston, 15 October 2025. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, held a farewell meeting with the Minister of Tourism of Jamaica, the Honourable Edmund Bartlett, MP.

During the exchange, both parties recognised the historic relations that unite the peoples of Cuba and Jamaica, as well as the importance of continuing to promote multi-destination tourism for the development of both nations and the Caribbean region in general, in a context where cooperation rather than competition between tourist destinations should prevail.

The Cuban diplomat also thanked Jamaica for its support and denounced the impact of the genocidal blockade policy and the island's continued inclusion on the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism on the development and recovery of our country's tourism sector after COVID-19.
