The multi-destination tourism, a viable option for the Caribbean countries

NASSAU, November 15th, 2017. -The Ambassador of Cuba to the Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, attended as a special guest a radio interview of the talk show “Connected”of the Bahamian station Guardian Radio.

During the interview, the Cuban diplomat addressed various topics of interest, in particular, the opportunities for foreign investment in Cuba, the growth of the Cuban economy despite the blockade imposed by the US, the existing collaboration between Cuba and The Bahamas, as well as other elements of particular interest to the Caribbean region.

The official referred to the VI CARICOM-Cuba Summit that will take place this year in Antigua and Barbuda on December 8. In this Summit the countries of the region will review the strategies outlined during the last Summit held in Havana. They will also discuss new cooperation projects, which will strengthen relations and promote economic integration in the region.

In this regard, the Ambassador referred to the multi-destination tourism as a viable option, an issue that will have an important place at the next CARICOM-Cuba Summit. She added that each country has attractive tourist destinations. Therefore, this initiative will allow the economic development of the entire region.

Also, the diplomat spoke about the development of tourism in Cuba, which allowed this year to reach of 4 million visitors milestone, eight weeks earlier than in 2016, despite the passage of hurricane Irma through the Cuban territory.
