"The tenacity of the Cuban people is being tested like never before. The strangle of the economic blockade on the Cuban economy and the living conditions of the Cuban people is causing a humanitarian catastrophe," stated Ambassador Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, during the mid-year diplomatic briefing.
The meeting took place in Windhoek this Friday and brought together members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the African nation, whom the Minister briefed on Namibia's foreign policy priorities.
"We extend our solidarity and support to the people of Cuba as they grapple with human suffering of enormous scale" Ashipala-Musavyi reaffirmed.
The Minister, who is also a Member of the National Assembly, provided detailed information on political progress, trade relations, and bilateral and multilateral ties, as well as Namibia's positions regarding regional and global events.
The Minister expressed her gratitude to the governments and organizations that have collaborated with Namibia to advance national development, development assistance, trade, investment, technical cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.
