Namibia, September 2nd, 2020- The Vice-president of SWAPO, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for International Relations and Cooperation, H.E. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Sidenio Acosta Aday, at the headquarters of that Ministry.
The Cuban diplomat updated the Namibian leader of the latest measures taken by the United States to tighten the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba. Likewise, he informed Foreign Minister Netumbo about the incidence of Covid-19 in Cuba.
For her part, the Namibian leader thanked the information received and reiterated her country's solidarity and support for the Cuban cause. She highlighted Cuba's contribution to the global fight against Covid-19, with the presence of the Henry Reeve Brigade in more than 30 countries. She underlined the advances of Cuban science, especially the creation of the “Soberna” vaccine against the new coronavirus.
Likewise, both agreed to highlight the excellent state of historical bilateral relations between both countries.
Aldo Fuentes, second secretary of the Cuban Embassy, and Ambassador Sabine Bolke-Muller, general director of Bilateral Affairs of the Namibian Foreign Ministry, also participated in the meeting, held in a fraternal atmosphere.
