NCPN statement on placing Cuba on the list of “countries that sponsor terrorism”

International Committee of the NCPN

The NCPN condemns the decision of the US government to put Cuba back on the list of “countries that sponsor terrorism”.

Although Cuba does not appear on the current list of countries “not fully cooperating with U.S. counterterrorism efforts through the calendar year 2023” in U.S. Secretary of State Blinken's report to Congress, Cuba remains on the existing U.S. list of states those who sponsor terrorism. Cuba does not support terrorism in any way, but is itself a victim of economic and other terrorism organized by the United States.

The US decision to place and then keep Cuba serves as a pretext for taking measures that severely affect the Cuban people, including Cubans living abroad, and that are in addition to measures already in place due to the economic, commercial and financial blockade.

We demand that Cuba be removed from the shameful list of “countries that sponsor terrorism” and that the measures included in the blockade come to an end.

Cuba is not alone!

Solidarity with socialist Cuba!
