Kingston, 21 August 2025. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, and officials from the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information of Jamaica welcomed 15 new Cuban teachers at Norman Manley International Airport, who will join schools in different regions of the island starting next September.
The Cuban professionals will teach various subjects, such as Spanish language and science, and will join the contingent already established as part of the bilateral cooperation agreement on education, which operates throughout almost the entire country.
The presence of these educators in Jamaica reaffirms our country's firm commitment to continue supporting the education and training of human resources in the CARICOM nations and the legacy of friendship and solidarity of the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
