A new Cuban Medical Brigade arrives in Barbados.

Arrribo de la nueva Brigada Medica cubana a Barbados.

A new Cuban Medical Brigade arrived in Barbados following the return of the Henry Reeve Brigade, which for two years carried out emergency work in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Made up of 70 specialists, including intensive care doctors, specialized nurses and laboratory specialists, it will provide services in different medical facilities in the country and will help cover the existing deficit of equivalent professionals in the public health and wellness system of this sister Caribbean country with which Cuba celebrates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year .

The arrival was covered with great prominence in the local press and has kept the attention before the imperishable memory that the Cubans medics left in the confrontation with the pandemic, which led to conferring a special recognition on them from the Government and the People of Barbados for their humanitarian work of help to this country in its hour of greatest need.

As in the case of the Cuban medical specialists who attended before, the first step upon arrival was to visit the monument that remembers the victims of the Barbados Crime, where the brigade made its commitment to fulfilling the mission entrusted to it.

In the next few days they will carry out their initial familiarization training with the specialized facilities and will undertake the medical and assistance work to which they are entrusted.
