New measures related to International Health Control and isolation of travelers

Taking into account the national, regional and international epidemiological situation and the need to apply new measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 cases in the country, it has been decided to make a further reduction to the current frequencies of flights of the airlines that operate from the United States, Mexico, Panama, Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic, which are joined by Jamaica and Colombia, starting at 00 hours on February 6, 2021.

In turn, the restart of frequencies to Nicaragua, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname is suspended and the frequencies to Haiti are suspended. The arrival of flights without passengers will be authorized only to evacuate people stranded in the country, foreigners or people residing abroad.

Likewise, institutional isolation will be implemented upon arrival of international travelers.

In the case of foreign tourists, businessmen, technicians and cooperators, as well as foreign diplomatic personnel accredited in Cuba, the accredited foreign press and the official delegations approved to receive in the period, the Protocols approved by MINTUR, MINCEX will be applied, and MINREX respectively.

The health workers and the rest of the OACEs will be isolated in the capacities created in Havana and Matanzas, fulfilling all the established requirements. Foreign students and scholarship holders will be isolated in the institutions designated for this purpose by the MINSAP and the MES.

The isolation of Cuban residents will be in centers set up in the provinces and will be free of cost, as well as transportation to the center and the return to their residence once the isolation is completed.

In the case of foreigners and non-resident Cubans who arrive in the country, they will be isolated in designated hotel facilities in each territory, with travelers assuming the costs of stay and transportation.
