New Minister of Education and Science receives the Cuban Ambassador.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. October 29, 2020. Ms. Tsedevsuren Lkhagva, the new Minister of Education and Sciences of Mongolia received this morning the Ambassador of Cuba Raúl Delgado Concepción.  The status of bilateral work with that Mongolian institution was updated. The Minister, who has extensive work experience in the field of education, assumed this position after the appointment of the new government cabinet at the end of the Parliamentary elections last June.

The Minister began the meeting by thanking the Government and the people of Cuba for the constant support and solidarity that in terms of human resource training has provided to Mongolia since 1963 when the first young Mongols arrived in Cuba to pursue higher studies in different specialties. The more than 160 young Mongols who have graduated during these years, in the specialties of stomatology, medicine, sports, pedagogy, veterinary medicine among other careers, represent the will of the Cuban people to help other countries in an altruistic and selfless way.

She also referred to the interest of continuing to expand the work framed in the Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Academic Degrees in Higher Education signed in May 2017 between both governments. This agreement allows us to advance towards other projects in the field of education, joint scientific research, among others. She also proposed to the Cuban Ambassador to explore the possibilities of cooperation in the areas of academic exchanges, specifically in university education that involves teachers and students.

The Cuban Ambassador for his part reaffirmed the will of our government to continue working together in this important sphere and explained the possibilities offered by our Universities and other educational institutions to carry out postgraduate, master's and doctorate courses for those Mongol graduates or institutions that require it or are interested.
