New York, April 5, 2024.- Today, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán presented to the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres, the credentials accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative to the United Nations United, in New York.
During the exchange right after the protocol ceremony, Soberón Guzmán ratified Cuba's commitment to multilateralism and the United Nations system.
For his part, the Secretary General highlighted the work and activism of the Carribean island at the multilateral level, especially in the context of its Chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China in 2023.
The Cuban Permanent Representative was accompanied by Ambassador Yuri A. Gala López, deputy permanent representative, Counselor Daylín Rodríguez Lomas, and First Secretary Richard Tur de la Concepción.
