Islamabad, April 8, 2019. The newly appointed Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, H. E. Mr. Sohail Mahmood, who currently serves as High Commissioner of Pakistan in India, received the Ambassador of Cuba in Islamabad, Gabriel Tiel Capote, on a working visit to India. The foreign secretary thanked Cuba for the medical aid provided by the earthquake that struck Pakistan in 2005 and the granting of 1,000 scholarships to Pakistani students to study Medicine, while praising the figure of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro. The ambassador took this opportunity to thank the traditional and valuable support of Pakistan in favor of the Resolution of Cuba against the Blockade. During the meeting, both diplomats reviewed the main issues of bilateral relations and the express will of the two countries to strengthen them, and to expand economic-trade links.
