Colombo, February 25, 2025. The Sri Lankan newspaper Sri Lanka Guardian published a report on the speech by the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, at the High-Level Segment of the 58th session of the Human Rights Council, held in Geneva on February 24, 2025.
The newspaper reported that the Cuban Foreign Minister in his speech called on the Human Rights Council to advocate more strongly for a fair and democratic international order, which guarantees peace and “the balance of the world,” sovereign equality, the exercise of the right to development by all States and environmental sustainability, which ensure the exercise of all human rights.
The Foreign Minister also noted that all States must make a commitment to human rights mechanisms of a thematic, universal and non-discriminatory nature.
