Nigeria, May 5th, 2023.- The Cuban ambassador to Nigeria, Clara M. Pulido Escandell, participated in a farewell ceremony, at the headquarters of the Nigerian Workers' Congress (NLC), organized by a representation of the Nigerian Solidarity Platform with Cuba.
With the presence of the President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, the Minister of the Interior of Nigeria, Rauf Aregbechola, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in the country and a large mass of trade unionists from the NLC and TUC, the farewell ceremony was held.
During the meeting, the solid historical ties of friendship between Cuba and Nigeria, between the trade union movements of both countries and the growing link with the Cuban diplomatic mission in Abuja, were highlighted, thanks to the deep work of friendship and solidarity developed by the Cuban diplomat.
The Cuban ambassador thanked the moving farewell and confirmed that the results and the strengthening of the friendship were due to the joint work of many friends both in Cuba and in Nigeria. In the same way, on behalf of the Cuban people and on her own, she thanked the Cuba Solidarity Movement for the continuous display of friendship and solidarity towards the Caribbean Island. The diplomat also conveyed her assurance that the ties of friendship and solidarity will continue to strengthen.
The Nigerian solidarity movement with Cuba has always been a leading exponent in defense of the Cuban people's right to build a future without interference and conditions from foreign powers and has always supported Cuba in the fight against the genocidal Yankee blockade.
