The NLC Participates in the 6th International Conference for the Balance of the World in Cuba

Havana, January 31, 2025 – From January 28 to 31, comrade and friend Denja Yusuf, a member of the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the largest trade union federation in Nigeria, actively participated in the 6th International Conference for the Balance of the World, held in Havana, Cuba. The event, which brought together hundreds of delegates from various countries, provided a pluralistic space for analyzing global challenges from a humanistic and solidarity-based perspective.

During his stay, Denja met with the Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP). Yahimi Rodríguez, ICAP’s Director for Africa and the Middle East, also participated in the meeting. They exchanged views on the importance of South-South cooperation and the need to strengthen solidarity ties among peoples.

Additionally, Denja had the opportunity to meet with other Nigerian delegates present at the event, engaging in a fruitful exchange of ideas on the problems the world faces today, particularly those affecting the working class. The discussions addressed topics such as economic inequalities, the impact of global crises on workers, and the urgent need to build a fairer and more balanced international order.

Denja's participation in this important international forum reaffirms the NLC’s commitment to defending workers’ rights and to seeking collective solutions to the common challenges facing humanity.
