MESSAGE FROM THE NORWAY-CUBA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION
Today we mark the 66th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution, a day in which Fidel Castro and his comrades, organized in the 26/7 Movement, succeeded in overthrowing the Batista dictatorship in 1959.
We send our congratulations to the Cuban people as they celebrate both the anniversary of the Revolution and the New Year in a very demanding time with great shortages , mainly caused by the 60-year economic war against Cuba. A price Cuba pays up to today for having stood up for its independence and refusing to be cowed by its powerful neighbor to the north!
STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY FROM THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF NORWAY (NKP), OSLO AND AKERSHUS DISTRICT
On behalf of the Communist Party of Norway, we would like to congratulate Cuba and the Cuban people on the occasion of the 66th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution. Our party has always stood with the Cuban people and their chosen Socialist path. There are numerous reasons for this.
First of all, we honor the principles of sovereignty and self-determination of nations. Members of our party, who have visited Cuba countless times, have seen with their own eyes the overwhelming support for the Revolution in Cuba among its people. We see that as a democratic choice that the Cuban people have made, and we recognize their right to make that choice, on their own, without any foreign interference. Some countries, in particular the imperialist governments of the United States, Canada, the European Union, and also Norway, have made numerous statements and attempts throughout the last several decades, to deny the Cuban people this very right. The U.S. blockade against Cuba is an example of this, attempting to coerce the Cuban government and people to abandon their sovereignty and independence via the use of comprehensive economic, commercial and financial means. In Norway, we see the constant state media propaganda directed against Cuba, where Cuba is constantly described as an undemocratic dictatorship that suppresses the freedoms of its people. However, such descriptions have no basis in reality. Similarly, the consequences of the U.S. blockade on Cuba are presented without context, as if they were the result of failures of the Cuban government itself. The numerous articles in Norwegian government media, for instance, in relation to the power grid outages in Cuba, demonstrate this hostile use of media very clearly. Our Party has always publicly countered and dismissed these lies, and we will continue to do so, so that the right of the Cuban people to choose their destiny, is recognized and upheld by our government.
Secondly, we support the Cuban Revolution due to our shared ideological foundation, based on the Marxist-Leninist notion of liberation of humankind from class oppression, from capitalism, and from imperialism. Contrary to the commonly held beliefs in the West, we do not consider Socialism and Communism to be utopian, failed, or outdated systems, but, on the contrary, the only working systems that have in practice shown an ability to bring liberation and democracy to entire peoples across the world. We see the achievements of the Socialist path that Cuba has chosen, such as the exemplary healthcare system and high life expectancy, the constant scientific advancements pursued not for profit, but for their value to human development, and also an extensive network of social, educational, and welfare programs, designed to help Cubans find work, housing, and any necessary support, and to lead as normal lives as possible even in the most challenging conditions. We consistently see Cuba appear at the very top of lists regarding various statistical figures, when it comes to living conditions and availability of social support, not only in the context of Latin America, but also the whole world.
Today, we celebrate Cuba and the Cuban Revolution as a leading example of a modern, just, and socially progressive society that all countries around the world should take inspiration from. On this 66th Anniversary of the Revolution, the Communist Party of Norway is celebrating its decades-long close cooperation, mutual learning and theoretical exchanges, as well as mutual solidarity with the Communist Party of Cuba, and we are looking forward to the continuation of this friendship and camaraderie for many years to come!
¡Viva la Revolución Cubana!
¡Viva Cuba Socialista!
¡Vivan Fidel y Raúl!
¡Viva el Partido Comunista de Cuba!
¡Hasta la victoria siempre! Venceremos!
MESSAGE FROM MAYO BUSTOS, MEMBER OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF NORWAY (NKP) ANDTHE BOARD OF THE NORWAY-CUBA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION
Happy 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and to the heroic and hard-working Cuban people, their Government and the Communist Party of Cuba.
Cuba and International Solidarity celebrate with admiration the achievements of social and socioeconomic justice, of their internationalism, their tireless struggle for their sovereignty, self-determination, their right to live in peace, freedom and friendship with the peoples of the world achieved in the 66 years of the Cuban Socialist Revolution.
It has been more than six decades facing the permanent and systematic aggressions of the criminal and imperialist regime of the United States and its European allies with the economic, commercial, financial and genocidal blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and the countless attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the country, military invasion, sabotage, media manipulation and lies, support and organization of terrorist groups that have wanted to create social chaos to destabilize society and overthrow socialism in Cuba.
In addition, they have included the worthy and supportive Cuban people in a list of sponsors of terrorism.
Cuba defends itself and resists amidst the criminal threats of the US imperialism and its Western allies.
My best greetings and wishes for this new year 2025 of new victories and my unconditional support to the Cuban people who fight in defense of the Revolution and Socialism.
This is precisely what makes us feel proud to be Communists!
I trust that this new year many things will change and also for the benefit of Cuba.
Long live Cuba and the 66th Anniversary of the Socialist Revolution!
Happy New Year 2025!
MESSAGE FROM THE RED PARTY
Sixty-six years have now passed since the Cuban Revolution, and to this day, Cuba has been subjected to a brutal boycott by imperialist capitalism, led by the United States. Now, more than ever, it is necessary to connect historical experiences and the revolutionary proletariat to build an international front of oppressed peoples and classes.
The international people's movement must support our struggles at the forefront, from Palestine to the rest of the world, and continue the Palestinian people's just revolt against the Zionist state of Israel—a state that is one of the foremost representatives of global capitalism´s barbarity and destructive power apparatus.
The struggle against right-wing policies and the devastating effects of neoliberalism—which constantly exacerbate poverty, unemployment, and proletarianization—is crucial. We see how capitalism systematically expands its exploitation and cements injustice, making socialist revolution our only way out of this global oppression.
We in the Red Party of Norway (Rodt), as a socialist and revolutionary party, declare our solidarity with all comrades fighting for freedonn and justice on the international arena. From our comrades in Cuba to the Palestinian people and all the oppressed worldwide, we stand united in the struggle for a world where socialism triumphs over the brutality of capitalism.
Long live the Revolution!
Long live the proletarian internationalism!
