Oslo, February 8, 2023. The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, received Odd-Jarl Gerhardsen, editor-in-chief of "Friheten", the newspaper of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP), who is leaving shortly for Cuba to attend the First International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements, which will be held in Havana from February 10 to 12.
The Cuban diplomat thanked Gerhardsen for the interest shown by him and his newspaper in the event and wished him a successful and fruitful participation in it.
Convened by Cuba Socialista, the theoretical and political magazine of the Cuban Communist Party, the event will allow thinkers and representatives of publications from left-wing parties and movement to debate on the problems and challenges that are being faced by revolutionary and progressive forces in the current world context.
The event will address issues related to US imperialism, socialism and youth, solidarity and unity of the left and the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
The Meeting will take place in the context of the Havana International Book Fair, which will provide the possibility of interaction with prominent intellectuals from around the world who will be present at this great festival of literature and books. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
