Oslo, September 27, 2024. This Monday, September 23, at the University of Stavanger (UiS for its acronym in Norwegian), a presentation entitled “Brief Overview of Social Work in Latin America and Cuba” took place, by a group of Cuban professors, as part of the academic exchange promoted by the collaboration project “Well-being in Cuba and Norway. Strengthening professional training on social policies and well-being from an intercultural perspective”, existing between the Department of Sociology of the University of Havana (UH) and the Department of Social Studies of the UiS.
Students of Social Work at the University of Stavanger were present in the auditorium and they highly appreciated the presentation.
A valuable academic exchange was promoted for all participants on the milestones in the development of social work; the different approaches to well-being; the current scenario regarding social work and well-being in the Latin American and Caribbean region, with an emphasis on the Cuban context; and the experiences of social work and humanitarian services in the Office of the Historian of Havana city.
