Numan Kurtulmuş, President of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, paid tribute in Havana to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

Numan Kurtulmuş president of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, paid tribute this May 8 afternoon to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder and first president of this Eurasian Republic.
Accompanied by Homero Acosta Alvarez, Secretary of the Cuban Parliament, he placed a wreath in front of the bust of the Turkish hero, located on the Avenida del Puerto in Old Havana, whose base reads "Peace in the country, peace in the world".

When this monument was inaugurated in 2008 in the very heart of the Cuban capital, Eusebio Leal, Historian of the City of Havana, emphasized his satisfaction for this work, as a continuous appeal to the memory of those who build and build the present and the future.

Also present at Wednesday's tribute were Turkish deputies Murat Emir; Filiz Kiliç; Selman Özboyaci, president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba; and Ahmet Gökhan Sariçam; as well as Vehbi Esgel Etensel, ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Havana. Also participating on the Cuban side were Jesús Rafael Mora González, director of International Relations of the Cuban Legislative; Jorge Luis Alfonzo Ramos, deputy director of Europe and Canada of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; among other executives of the National Assembly.
