Between September 22 and 24, the 48th edition of the Odigitis festival, of the youth of the KNE of Greece, concluded in Athens. As is traditional, the event was previously held in different regions, and its final phase was held in Tritsis Park, the largest facility of its kind in the Hellenic capital.
On Saturday night, with the assistance of a large audience, a meeting was held where the deputy Liana Kaneli and the head of the Department of International Relations of the KNE, Nikos Zajaropoulos, ratified, on behalf of the Greek people and their youth, the solidarity and friendship with the Cuban revolution and its brave youth. Both once again condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade maintained by the United States government against Cuba and demanded its immediate end.
The island's ambassador to Greece, Aramís Fuente Hernández, also spoke, who, in his speech, highlighted the friendship and solidarity between both peoples and referred to the blockade and the damage it has caused the Cuban people. Similarly, he spoke about the victorious battle fought in the country against COVID19, the referendum on the Family Code and other current Cuban issues.
During its three days, the Festival was attended by thousands of people who enjoyed recreational offers of various kinds and who also participated in different events of a cultural and political nature that made up the programming of what is considered the largest event of this type ever. organizes in Greece.
The stands that represented Cuba were installed and attended by the Heleno-Cuban Friendship and Solidarity Association and permanently visited by many people who expressed their friendship and solidarity with Cuba and its Revolution.
