Athens, 27 July. Cuba's ambassador to Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, on July 23, offered a press conference at the Arta Labor Center, a Greek city of the Epirus region. The conference was led by Vice President II, and Head of Culture, Lambrina Skorila.
This visit to the city and the activities carried out, during several days of an intense and fruitful work program, were organized by the Labor Center of Arta and Velisarios Kossivakis, director of New Star Art Cinema, friend of Cuba and promoter of the initiative to apply for the Nobel Prize for Cuban medical brigades, which was also present in the interview and explained extensively about the solidarity initiative , as well as on Cuba's solidarity work in several countries around the world historically ,and about the values of Cuba's socialist revolution.
The ambassador, after a brief introduction on the reason for the visit and essential aspects of Cuba's current reality, answered several questions from a journalist from local newspaper Tajidromos, and from a journalist from station Arta TV.
In general, the themes were about the history of the Cuban revolution, relations with the US, the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, the challenges to be faced, the humanitarian and internationalist work of Cuban health professionals and the campaigns of slander to damage the image of the revolution, the inspiration represented by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and Che Guevara for Cuba and for the world. Also about the official talks with the Arta authorities and respect for the internal affairs of each country, as well as an explanation about the reality of Cuba.
In the end the Ambassador sent a message of thanks and solidarity to the people of Arta. The vice-president concluded by inviting to attend the important act of solidarity with Cuba that would take place the next day, which was also covered by the press.
