Colombo, March 23, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka Andrés Marcelo González Garrido was received by Dinushika Manawadu, assistant director of the Department of National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka at the Zoological Garden headquarters in Dehiwala, located in Colombo.
The diplomat referred to the National Zoological Park of Cuba located in the Boyeros municipality in the Cuban capital, the Havana Zoological Garden and others in some provinces of the country. They also talked about possible exchanges that can be established between the Department of National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka with Cuban counterpart institutions.
During the visit, the ambassador toured the areas of the National Zoological Garden in Dehiwala, founded in 1936 and which has a great variety of animals and birds and which in the past included some Cuban species.
