The team of the Embassy of Cuba, led by Ambassador Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, gathered today to sign the Declaration by the Revolutionary Government of Cuba in support of Venezuela against the menace of intervention by the United States.
The declaration denounces the recent escalation of hostile actions and the military build-up by the United States in the Caribbean Sea, intended to justify a possible armed aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Such actions, as detailed in the document, violate international law and amplify regional tension.
The Declaration also warns the international community about the dangers these maneuvers represent for the peace, stability, and security of Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2014, the region has been officially designated as a “Zone of Peace” by the CELAC summit held in Havana, a commitment that Cuba now urges all nations to uphold and defend.
Cuban officials emphasize that undermining Venezuela’s sovereignty would not only destabilize the country but have consequences for the entire continent.
In addition to embassy staff, Cuban medical brigades and consular officials abroad have joined the signature campaign worldwide, calling for global mobilization to prevent any military action against Venezuela.
The Declaration reaffirms Cuba’s unwavering support for the Venezuelan government, its people, and Latin America’s right to resolve its matters free from foreign intervention. Through this act of unity, Cuba reiterates its call for dialogue, respect for international law, and the maintenance of the region as a true Peace Zone.
