More than 80% of the current Cuban population was born under the effects of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, which is the main cause of the deprivation, suffering and shortages of Cuban families.
This policy is a deliberate act of economic warfare aimed at preventing financial income to the country and causing the economy to collapse. Among its aims is to reduce salaries and provoke discouragement.
In this sense, the blockade creates conditions that encourage irregular, disorderly and unsafe migration.
Between August 2021 and February 2022, the losses caused by the blockade are in the order of 3,806 million dollars, as denounced today at the UNGA by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, during the presentation of the resolution "Necessity of putting an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba".
For the thirtieth time the world expressed its rejection of this hostile policy by voting on this resolution 185 countries in favor of its elimination, 2 abstentions and 2 against.
The United States insists on maintaining this obsolete mechanism harming the people of Cuba, while the world says once and a thousand times Better without a Blockade.
