One Love and one struggle. Statement of the Jamaica Cuba Friendship Association

The Jamaican Solidarity Movement with Cuba, condemns in the most forceful way the vile attack, that included the throwing of 2 Molotov cocktails on the embassy of our sister country in Washinton DC on Sunday evening (September 24).

We view this attack as an emboldened reaction by person/s, who calculated that  they could get way with this act of terror and intimidation, in the same way, as 3 years ago when the said Cuban embassy was shot up by terrorist using AK47 assault rifle and up to this day, no one has being held accountable.

We also view the position of the government of the United States of America on placing Cuba unjustly on the list of countries that are state sponsors of terrorism as highly hypocritical, while providing a breeding ground for terrorist to operate with the kind of impunity that occur on Sunday.

Cuba will not be cowed or intimated as since the triumph of the revolution led by the historic leader of the Cuba revolution, Fidel 64 years ago, they have had to defend themselves against assassination attempts on their leaders, invasion, germ warfare, economic blockade, propaganda campaign that would make Joseph Goebbels of Hitler’s Third Reich a proud man.

Cuba remains a beacon of hope for all of us who struggle for a better world, where the ‘brotherhood of man’ is the central to their existence

Lets stand up and be counted for Cuba and join with our brothers and sisters across the world in condemning this terrorist act while demanding a thorough investigation from the US authorities.

We also extend an open invitation to join in the international campaign and sign the “Let Cuba Live’ campaign. Help us circulate petition calling for the removal of Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
