Kingston, 25 October 2024. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica Fermín Quiñones Sánchez participated in the inauguration of the JACDEN Group Medical Centre, an institution focused on the care of oncology patients and dialysis treatments, with the collaboration of 12 Cuban health specialists.
During the opening ceremony, Dennis Gordon, CEO of the JACDEN Group, thanked and acknowledged the support received by various Cuban institutions, including the Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos (CSMC), for the development of this project. Several speakers acknowledged Cuba's contribution to the Jamaican health system; and denounced the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against the Cuban people.
In his intervention, the Cuban ambassador stressed that the contribution to this new health facility is another example of the cooperation that for years has kept Cuba and Jamaica together.
